Steelrising, an action RPG set in the French Revolution, is a game in which automatons have overpowered the revolutionaries. You play as a lone human against an army of robots. The game includes many features that make for a fun and challenging experience.

For example, you must collect traversal upgrades to enter previously inaccessible areas and explore every nook and cranny to progress through the game.

What Game is Steelrising Like?

Steelrising is a fighting game that is hard to get good at, even though it says it’s for everyone who plays PC games. Players will have to grind to complete their objectives for long periods. This can be a frustrating experience, especially for people new to the genre. However, it also allows players to kill bosses with relative ease.

The game is also a story-driven game in the vein of “Souls,” but with a different take on the French Revolution. The story is well-written, and the game has decent character development, side quests, and combat.

Steelrising Gameplay

Steelrising features a high-tech steampunk robot called Aegis. It is the fictional son of a real historical figure known as Jacques de Vaucanson, who invented automata.

Queen Marie Antoinette tells Aegis to go to Paris, and the game gives her a chance to find out who made Aegis and figure out how to stop an army of weapons that can fight for themselves.

Is Steelrising a Soulslike?

The combat system in Steelrising is souls-like, and players will find plenty to enjoy as they battle through the game, like light attacks, heavy attacks, weapon-specific special attacks, and ballet-like moves. The weapons available are based on the ones from Dark Souls and Bloodborne. They include heavy hammers, daggers, guns, and deadly metal fans.

The combat mechanics in Steelrising also focus on alchemical power and heavily emphasize elemental effects. Both Aegis and her enemies can use different elements to increase their damage. The combat tracker keeps track of elemental damage, and most enemies have weaknesses in specific elements.

Players must also manage their stamina and avoid overheating their gears, as they quickly drain stamina and cause Aegis to become immobile.

Steelrising Platforms

Steelrising was released on September 8 in two editions: the Standard Edition and the Bastille Edition. Both are available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft Windows on Steam.

It’s bad news for PS4 and Xbox One users because the game is not available for these platforms currently, and there haven’t been any rumors of a possible porting to them.
